Alternative Medicine: Wide Use Among Older Adults
A new study reports that over 70% of U.S. adults over 50 years of age use some form of alternative medicine such as herbal remedies and acupuncture. Although prior research has been limited this rate seems to be greater than that of the general population.
This study was conducted by Gong Soog Hong, professor of consumer sciences at Ohio State University along with associate professor, Catherine Montalto and graduate student, Vibna Bhargava, both of whom are also in consumer sciences at Ohio State University.
