HHS Sex Abstinence Education Report

HHS today announced first-year findings showing that students participating in abstinence education programs have a more positive view toward abstinence than students not participating. The information was released in an interim report of an evaluation designed to measure the impacts of a select set of abstinence education programs. (more…)

Researchers supported by the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) have found that half of all lifetime cases of mental illness begin by age 14, and that despite effective treatments, there are long delays — sometimes decades — between first onset of symptoms and when people seek and receive treatment. FDA Investigates Florida Food Contamination

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is initiating an investigation to determine the source of several clusters of a gastrointestinal illness known as cyclosporiasis that is associated with fresh basil served in Florida during mid-March through mid-April. Known as a traceback, the investigation will work to locate the source of the contaminated produce. (more…)
